Substance Over Noise

Substance over noise is a baseline filter in how I operate. Across ideas, work, people, and content, I pick the thing with real weight behind it and rejects the thing that is dressed-up empty.

What it means

Substance is the underlying truth or value of a thing. Noise is decoration, performance, or volume. Most of the content in the world is noise. Most of the business talk is noise. A smaller set of things is substance. I want my attention and my output on the substance side.

Why it is a filter and not a preference

A preference is aesthetic. A filter is a default rule. Substance over noise is a filter. When something is loud and impressive but hollow, I do not just notice. He drops it. That is how I protects my time and my Mental Edge.

The relationship to No-BS

Substance over noise is the content version of No-BS. No-BS is about tone and honesty. Substance over noise is about what you give your attention to. They are the same instinct expressed in different layers.

How it shows up in my building

Duodode is positioned around this. I do not want to build an agency that produces beautiful-but-useless work. I want work that is both sharp and real. That is the filter applied at the business level.
