San Francisco
San Francisco
San Francisco is not a place I live. It is a cultural and mental reference point. Through series like Silicon Valley, through YouTube creators, through tech news, through company stories, San Francisco is where a large chunk of my imagined tech canon lives.
What it represents to me
- The symbolic capital of modern tech and startup culture.
- The home of the archetype of the builder-founder he half-relates to.
- A source of global perspective on what building at scale can look like.
- A lens through which American tech culture became familiar to me.
Absorbed, not lived
I absorbed San Francisco mostly through:
- Silicon Valley the series.
- Tech YouTube channels and essays.
- Company histories and founder stories.
- General series influences and pop culture.
This is a common pattern for me: a place becomes part of my mental furniture through long exposure to its stories before any physical contact.
What I takes from it, and does not
- Takes: the ambition of building at real scale, the belief that tech can compound massively, the familiarity with startup language.
- Does not take: the performative side, the pitch-deck theater, the hype without execution.
My actual base is Dubai, and that is deliberate.
Connection to my system
San Francisco ties to Silicon Valley, Series Influences, Global Perspective, Dubai, and Ambition. It is a cultural input, not a location I operate from.
