The Creative Act: A Way of Being — Rick Rubin
The Creative Act: A Way of Being — Rick Rubin
A book about creativity as a way of paying attention, making choices, and moving through the world.

What I like here is the shift from creativity as output to creativity as posture. It is less obsessed with finished products than with the kind of attention and receptivity that make good work possible in the first place.
That matters to me because I do not think taste and making happen only at the moment of execution. They begin earlier, in the way a person notices, filters, leaves space, and stays available to something sharper. That is why the book sits naturally beside Taste, Design Philosophy, and Making Space.
