Where He Enters the Story

Hoang Duc is one of the people I still connect strongly to my university years, even though the center of the relationship was never campus sentimentality. We met there, but most of what I remember is direction. He already cared a lot about markets, money, and where his life was going.

He works as a crypto trader now, which feels consistent with the version of him I knew even back then. The interest was not casual. It had weight early.

Markets Were Usually the Topic

Most of our meaningful conversations were about Trading. Not in a loud, hyped way. More in the sense that he had spent enough time thinking about it that the concepts had started forming his worldview. Through him, I learned a lot of basic market logic, especially around Crypto and the mentality that surrounds it.

That part of the friendship matters to me because it added another language to my thinking. Risk, conviction, timing, money, patience. Those are not only trader words. They spill into how people approach life more broadly, and they sit close to the more grounded version of Ambition that I take seriously.

What I Respect

He feels reliable to me. Career-focused too, but not in a performative way. There is a seriousness in him around the practical side of life that I respect, and it places him closer to Seriousness and Entrepreneurship than to empty business talk. He does not romanticize drifting.

There was also a period when we went to the gym together for around three or four months. That phase matters because it confirmed something I already sensed: he values routine, and he can stay with repetition when he believes in the outcome. That is part of why Discipline belongs near him.

The Other Side of the Friendship

Our conversations were not only about markets. He also asked me for Fashion advice sometimes, which added a lighter and more personal edge to the relationship. I like that detail because it keeps the page from flattening him into only one dimension.

Shared Time

  • University years where trading became the dominant topic between us.
  • A long run of conversations shaped by Crypto, market thinking, and career decisions.
  • Around three or four months of going to the gym together.
  • Smaller moments where he asked me for fashion advice and let the conversation widen beyond money.
