The idea of star friendship stayed with me because it describes a kind of closeness that does not require collapse into sameness. Two people can matter deeply to each other and still remain distinct, distant, even on separate paths, like stars that do not merge but still belong to the same sky.
I like that because it feels more honest than the clingier versions of friendship people usually praise. Real connection does not always mean constant proximity. Sometimes it means mutual recognition, respect, and a durable thread that survives time, movement, and difference. There is a lot of emotional maturity in that.
It also fits the shape of my own life. People move. Circumstances change. Some relationships become quieter without becoming less meaningful. Star friendship gives me language for that without turning distance into loss by default.
