Video Essays
Video Essays
Video essays are my preferred long-form video medium. They sit exactly at the intersection I care about: depth, real ideas, and craft in how the argument is built. For someone who learns heavily from YouTube and dislikes shallow content, they are close to ideal.
Why they fit me
I want depth, not noise. Video essays let a creator actually develop a thought instead of pushing it through the format of a short. They reward patience and signal that the creator is serious, which is exactly the taste I have across Books, Essays, and Philosophy.
What I look for
- Strong perspective and point of view
- Real research or real thinking behind the script
- Ideas that combine Science and Philosophy
- Craft in pacing, writing, and structure
- Creators with taste, not performers chasing the algorithm
Channels in this orbit
Exurb1a, Exurb2a, Sisyphus 55, Olisunvia, Kurzgesagt, Cleo Abram, Joma Tech, Good Work, The Futur, StarTalk, Astrum. They live in different corners but share the same seriousness about the form.
Connection to how I learns
I am self-taught and treat YouTube as a real learning surface. Video essays are one of the most efficient ways to absorb a coherent worldview from a thoughtful creator in an hour. They complement Books and written Essays rather than replace them.
Connection to my building
The same instincts that make a good video essay are the ones I respect in work: clarity, intention, structure, and real content underneath. It is a format that mirrors my design philosophy of intentional, timeless, and consistent.
