Clearing the Mind

Clearing the Mind

Clearing the mind is the outcome I am chasing when I run. It is a specific internal state, not a vague wellness idea.

What it means to me

A cleared mind is not empty. It is tidy. The important thoughts have risen to the top. The noise and half-formed anxieties have faded. Decisions feel lighter. Writing flows easier. Design choices are faster.

It is the state in which I do my best thinking.

How I get there

Primarily through Running. Occasionally through reading, walking, or long stretches of uninterrupted work. The common thread is simplicity: a single input, sustained attention, no context switching.

Scrolling and short-form media do the opposite. They fracture attention and leave residue. I avoid them as a reset tool.

Why I protect this state

Because my best output happens here. Duodode work, strategy thinking, writing, shipping decisions: all of it is measurably better when my mind is clear. A muddy mind makes more mistakes, takes longer to decide, and produces weaker work.

Protecting the cleared state is a form of ROI-Driven Thinking applied to myself. The state is the asset.

How it connects

Clearing the mind is the product of Mental Reset. Running is the main vehicle. Introspection depends on it. Without a regular clearing practice, reflection becomes spinning.
