Scale
Scale
Scale is one of the directions I consistently want to move toward. I am not interested in small wins that plateau. I am interested in building something that grows beyond the limits of one person's time.
What scale means to me
- A business that grows without the founder being the bottleneck
- Output that compounds rather than resets
- Revenue that is not directly capped by hours worked
- Impact that reaches more than a handful of customers
See Long-term Goals and Millionaire Goal.
How I think about getting there
- Through Systems rather than heroics
- Through Leverage rather than volume
- Through Productized Services and AI Automation rather than more headcount alone
- Through focus: see Scaling an Agency
What scale is not
- Scale is not scale for the sake of it.
- A bigger team with thinner margins is not scale, it is inflation.
- A louder brand with the same underlying work is not scale, it is marketing.
I filter for real compounding, not the appearance of it.
Where scale fits
Scale sits alongside Leverage, Ownership, and Growth as one of the core business drivers. All four point in the same direction: build something that is worth more, not just busier.
