Leverage
Leverage
Leverage is one of the main lenses I use to evaluate decisions. I do not think in tasks; I think in what multiplies. A move with leverage pays back more than it costs, often in a non-linear way.
What counts as leverage for me
- Systems that work without my constant input
- AI Automation that compresses effort
- Ownership that creates compounding upside
- Taste and Competence that let me charge more for the same hour
- Relationships and track record that open larger opportunities
- Tools that multiply output, see Figma, Next.js, Claude Code, n8n
Why it is a filter
I actively avoid work that does not multiply. Trading time one-for-one is a floor, not a ceiling. The filter is simple: is this move linear, or does it compound? Linear work is accepted when it funds compounding work. Linear work as a long-term mode is not acceptable.
Leverage and Duodode
Duodode is built around leverage. Productized Services, AI Automation, and Systems are all ways to turn service work into something that scales better than pure hours. See Scaling an Agency and Agency-vs-Product.
Leverage and thinking
Leverage also applies internally. Books, Philosophy, YouTube, and AI Tools are leverage on thought. They improve judgment, which improves every downstream decision.
