UI Design

UI Design

UI design is one of the surfaces I work on, but I do not want it to be my identity. I treat UI as a tool, not a title. See Designer vs Builder.

My approach

UI is where the Design Philosophy meets the pixel. Every interface I build is filtered through intention, timelessness, and consistency. The interface is not meant to impress other designers. It is meant to do a job for a user inside a business.

What I care about

  • Hierarchy that reads in one glance
  • Typography that carries weight
  • Spacing that feels engineered, not arbitrary
  • States, edge cases, and real content
  • Motion that communicates, not decorates (see GSAP, Framer Motion, Rive)

Tools

I work primarily in Figma for design and uses VS Code, Next.js, and the rest of my stack to ship interfaces into reality. I prefer designing close to implementation because the handoff is where most UI work goes soft.

Why it matters to me

UI am the most visible part of a product. Good UI earns the first ten seconds of trust. Bad UI burns it. Inside Duodode, UI am how Branding and Digital Product Work become tangible to the end user.

How it connects

UI sits on top of UX Thinking and is sharpened by Visual Rigor. It is a component of the larger system described in Design As Leverage, not the whole thing.
