Application Design

Application Design

Application design is one of Duodode's service lines. Where Web Design deals mostly with surfaces people visit, application design deals with tools people use. For me, it is one of the most demanding and interesting parts of the work.

What it covers

  • Product UI design
  • Information architecture
  • Interaction patterns and flows
  • Design systems built to scale inside an app
  • Motion and feel, using references from GSAP, Framer Motion, and Rive

Primary tool: Figma.

The standard

Application design is judged on use, not first impression. A great app is one people can actually operate without friction. That means Clarity over cleverness, consistency over novelty, and a design system that holds across every screen.

The Design Philosophy applies directly: intentional, timeless, consistent.

Why it is different from web design

A landing page converts once. An app is used daily. That shifts the priorities. Hierarchy has to survive repeat exposure. States and edges have to be designed, not hoped for. The work is closer to product than to Branding.

Where it plugs in

Application design pairs with Application Development inside Duodode, often running together in the same engagement. It can follow branding or happen independently when a client already has an established identity and needs product work.
